Nicaragua's Ministry of Labour (MITRAB), through its coordinator for the council of communications, Rosario Murillo, has issued a communiqué announcing Monday, August 1, and Wednesday, August 10, 2016, as the dates of the upcoming annual fully-paid non-working public holidays in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua ("decretando como días de asueto el 1 y 10 agosto en el municipio de Managua, en ocasión de las fiestas patronales en honor a Santo Domingo de Guzmán") for the upcoming annual Managua non-working public holidays of Nicaragua.

As was done in the past (2015-07-31, 2014-07-31, 2012-07-30, 2011-07-27 and 2009-07-30), the MITRAB communiqué confirms that the August 1 and 10 annual public holidays are limited, geographically, to the city of Managua (the capital of Nicaragua), rather than the similarly-named, much larger Departamento de Managua ("asueto remunerado para todos los que laboran exclusivamente en el municipio de Managua"), and that these 2 Managua non-working public holidays are limited to the public sector ("Esto es para los trabajadores, las trabajadoras del sector público"), barring any special agreement in each individual company ("luego hay acuerdos particulares entre trabajadores, trabajadoras y sector privado").
