Niger 2016 Tabaski Public Holidays

The Ministre de l'Emploi, du Travail et de la Sécurité Sociale of the government of Niger, Salissou Ada, has declared Monday and Tuesday, September 12 and 13, 2016, as the dates of annual non-working public holidays in Niger on account of the upcoming annual "Tabaski" (Feast of sacrifice).

The aforementioned announcement ("A l'occasion la fête de Tabaski, les journées du lundi 12 et mardi 13 septembre 2016 déclarées chômées et payées sur toute l'étendue du territoire national"), as do previous ones (2015-09-23 and 2015-07-16), refers specifically to the "Loi n° 97-20 du 20 juin 1997 instituant les fêtes légales" (1997-06-23) is also in line with the subsequent "Loi n°98-05 du 29 avril 1998 instituant les fêtes légales" (1998-04-29), as amended by the "Loi n°2006-08 du 02 mai 2006" (2006-05-09), and with last winter's announcement by the Government of Niger (2016-02-23) specifying the non-working public holidays in Niger for the calendar year 2016, and applies to both the private and public sectors ("rappeler aux employeurs et employés des secteurs public, parapublic et privé").
