The incumbent President of Palau, Tommy Remengesau Jr., has confirmed that Tuesday, November 1, 2016, the date of the upcoming Palau Election Day, would be a non-working public holiday in Palau, once again.
Recall that, 4 years ago (2012-11-03), Palau's then President, Johnson Toribiong, issued an Executive Order declaring Tuesday, November 6, 2012, as a non-working public holiday in Palau on account of the upcoming national elections, and that, as per the aforementioned Executive Order, the Tuesday, November 6, 2012, non-working public holiday in Palau was to be called "National Day of Democracy".
A similar electoral public holiday had been declared 4 years before that (2008-11-03), when then President Tommy Remengesau had issued a proclamation making Tuesday, November 4, 2008, a one-off nationwide public holiday in Palau.
