The Paraguayan head of presidential decrees, Édgar Rodas, has released a communiqué ruling-out the declaration of Monday, December 26, 2016, and Monday, January 2, 2017, as additional non-working public holidays in Paraguay due to the upcoming annual Christmas and New Year public holidays of Paraguay falling on a Sunday.

The aforementioned announcement that neither Monday, December 26, 2016, nor Monday, January 2, 2017, would be declared as additional public holidays in Paraguay due to the Christmas and New Year public holidays of Paraguay falling on a Sunday, is in line with the list of official non-working public holidays in Paraguay for the calendar years 2016 and 2017, announced respectively a year ago (2015-12-10) and last month (2016-11-22 and 2016-11-28).
