The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, has signed and officially gazetted its previously-announced annual "Government Resolution On The Transfer Of Public Holidays in 2017" (Decree No.756 of August 4, 2016), which lists the official non-working public holidays and bridge holidays in Russia for the upcoming calendar year 2017.

As per the aforementioned decree and as was done in previous years (2015-09-26, 2015-06-19, 2014-08-30, 2014-05-23, 2013-06-03, 2012-10-17, 2012-09-29, 2011-07-21, 2010-08-24, 2009-11-10, 2008-11-28, 2007-08-11, 2007-01-06, 2006-11-11, and 2005-12-28), whenever a fixed-date annual public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the preceding Monday or Friday is usually declared a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by declaring a nearby Saturday to be a regular working day.
