South African 2017 Public Holidays Announced

The South African Government Communication and Information System has announced the dates of the annual non-working public holidays in South Africa for the calendar year 2017.

The aforementioned announcement of the annual public holidays in South Africa for the calendar year 2017 follows the annual trend of past years (2015-01-05, 2014-02-13, 2013-02-06, 2012-01-27, 2010-03-26, 2008-11-12, 2008-02-24, and 2006-03-22) and is based on the Public Holidays Act, Act No 36 of 1994 without any reference to any possible change due to the current review of public holidays in South Africa (2012-07-09, 2012-06-11 and 2003-11-06) or to election dates (2009-03-19, 2004-02-24 and 1999-04-28).
