The Government of the Australian State of South Australia has released its annual list of official non-working public holidays in the Australian State of South Australia for the calendar year 2018, including the current status of Adelaide Cup public holiday.
The aforementioned announcement of South Australian public holidays for 2018 refers to last summer's proclamation by the Governor (2015-09-08), based on the August 20th governmental media release ("Adelaide Cup public holiday in March to continue"), stating that "South Australia's March public holiday is set to continue through to 2019", as well as preceding years' statements (2014-03-21 and 2013-02-13), despite lobbying by the South Australian Jockey Club.
It does not, however, make any mention of the recent announcement by the Acting Premier of the Government of the Australian State of South Australia, John Rau, that his government was considering a proposal to move the annual Queen's Birthday non-working public holiday in the Australian State of South Australia, from June to a new date in May which would coincide with the new date of the Adelaide Cup Race.
