The government of Timor Leste has issued a press communiqué amending its previously-released annual list of official non-working public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2016 ("Feriadu Idul Adha nian iha tinan 2016").
As per the aforementioned announcement ("Idul Adha, loron-boot relijiaun nian ho data variavel, iha tinan ne'e, komemora iha loron 12 fulan-setembru no la'ós iha data ne'ebé hatuur ona iha komunikadu imprensa loron 29 fulan-janeiru nian, kona-ba feriadu sira iha tinan 2016."), the Idul Adha (aka. "Sacrifice Feast" or "Bakr-Eid"), is a celebration "which commemorates the sacrifice of Abraham, and marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage" and its observance in 2016 in 2016 as a public holiday will be on Monday, September 12, 2016, contrary to what was announced, at the beginning of this year (29-Jan-2016), and which listed Sunday, September 11, 2016 as the date of the 2016 Idul Adha non-working public holiday in Timor Leste ("Idul Adha, a movable date holiday, is celebrated, this year, on September 12th and not on the date that was conveyed, by mistake, in a press release on January 29th, regarding 2016 holidays.").
