The Office of the President of Vanuatu has announced that Vanuatu's president, Baldwin Lonsdale, had declared Monday, February 22, 2016, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Vanuatu, on account the annual Vanuatu public holiday for "Lini Day" falling on a Sunday, in the calendar year 2016.

The aforementioned announcement that Vanuatu's president had declared Monday, February 22, 2016, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Vanuatu, is in line with the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Vanuatu for the calendar year 2016, as announced by the government of Vanuatu late last year (29-Dec-2015).

The Public Holidays Act [Cap 114, revised 1988] as amended by the Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 1993 specifies that Vanuatu public holidays falling on a Sunday are moved to the following Monday.
