The Government of Armenia, following today's Cabinet meeting, has declared Monday, May 8, 2017, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Armenia, to link the upcoming "Victory and Peace Day" 2017 public holiday of Armenia with the preceding weekend.
As per the aforementioned announcement, the Cabinet will move the upcoming working day of Monday, May 8, 2017, to Saturday, May 20, 2017, thereby amending the list of 2017 public holidays in Armenia as they were announced earlier this year (2017-01-20).
Note, however, that the aforementioned announcement that the Government of Armenia had declared Monday, May 8, 2017, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Armenia, will not give rise to a long weekend in Armenia, as Saturday, May 6, 2017, was declared a regular working day in Armenia, earlier this month (2017-04-04), in compensation for the declaration of Monday, April 17, 2017, as a non-working public holiday in Armenia, on account of the 2017 "Day after the Holy Resurrection of Christ".
