Ghana's Minister of the Interior has issued a statement, signed by the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, reminding the public that Monday, March 6, 2017, will be a statutory public holiday marking Ghana's Independence Anniversary, under this year's theme "Mobilizing for Ghana’s future".
Contrary to last year (2016-03-04), when Ghana's President, John Dramani Mahama, issued an Executive Instrument declaring Monday, March 7, 2016, as an additional day in lieu public holiday throughout Ghana, this year's public holiday marking Ghana's Independence Anniversary will be limited to one day.
The announcement that Monday, March 6, 2017, had been declared a statutory non-working public holiday in Ghana on account of the upcoming Ghana's Independence Anniversary annual public holiday, is in line with the list of official 2017 non-working public holidays in Ghana, announced earlier this year (2016-12-30).
