A group of astrologers, which follows the Drugganitha Panchangam, have petitioned the Government of India's State of Telangana to amend the terms of the "Telangana GO List of General Holidays, Optional Holidays for the year 2017" (G.O.RT.No. 2529) which officially lists the annual non-working public holidays to be observed in the Indian State of Telangana for the upcoming calendar year 2017, by moving Ugadi from Wednesday, March 29, 2017, to Tuesday, March 28, 2017.

If the aforementioned change were to be approved then it would amend the "Telangana GO List of General Holidays, Optional Holidays for the year 2017" (G.O.RT.No. 2529) which officially lists the annual non-working public holidays to be observed in the Indian State of Telangana for the calendar year 2017 and was released by the Government of India's State of Telangana last autumn (2016-11-23).

Note that Tuesday, March 28, 2017, is the date when the states of Goa (2016-11-10), Gujarat (2016-12-14), Jammu and Kashmir (2016-12-11), and Maharashtra (2016-11-20), will observe Ugadi in 2017.
