The Jordanian Prime Ministry has issued a circular decreeing Sunday, April 9, 16 and 17, 2017, as additional non-working public holidays in Jordan on account of the upcoming Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday non-working public holidays of Jordan in 2017.
Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, had issued similar circulars in past years (2016-04-16, 2015-04-10 and 2015-03-27), based on a 2012 decision by cabinet that Palm Sunday and Easter be declared as official non-working public holidays for Christians at "ministries, government departments and public institutions".
Today's aforementioned declaration of 3 additional one-off non-working public holidays in Jordan for April 9, 16 and 17, 2017, is limited to Christians and is in addition to the list of official non-working public holidays and bank holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2017, as released last autumn (2016-10-15).
