The government of Latvia has released an amended version of its previously-released list of the annual official list of official non-working national public holidays in Latvia, and bridge non-working public holidays in Latvia, for the upcoming calendar year 2018.
The aforementioned announcement adds one non-working public holiday in Latvia in 2018 to the list of 2018 public holidays in Latvia as announced and confirmed by the government of Latvia, earlier this year (2017-12-14 and 2017-02-26), and in which, after 2 pauses (2015-12-05 and 2011-01-05), the list of public holidays in Latvia, for the upcoming calendar year 2018, returned for a second year (2016-06-14) to the time-honored practice (2014-11-15, 2013-10-25, 2013-01-16, 2012-01-04, 2010-01-08, 2009-05-21 and 2007-04-13), of declaring additional, one-off, bridge public holidays that are compensated by the same number of Saturdays being declared as regular working days.
The practice of declaring additional, one-off, bridge public holidays, compensated by the same number of Saturday working days, had been halted once before, in 2012 (2012-01-04), but only for a year (2013-01-16).
