Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced that Saturday, January 7th, 2017, would be a non-working public holiday throughout Macedonia "for all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia" on account of the upcoming annual "first day of Christmas by the Orthodox calendar" annual non-working public holiday of Macedonia.
In the same announcement, the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy "congratulated Christmas to the citizens of the Orthodox religion", presumably on account of the upcoming Orthodox Christmas Eve annual sectorial non-working public holiday (2016-01-04).
The above are in line with the Law on Holidays of the Republic of Macedonia (Official Gazette, and Br.21/98 7.18) as last amended in 2007 (2007-02-08), and the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy's official list of 2017 public holidays in Macedonia, as published last autumn (2016-10-22).
