The Ministère de l’Emploi, du Travail et de la Protection Sociale of the government of Niger has declared Thursday, June 22, 2017, as a non-working public holiday in Niger on account of the upcoming lendemain de la nuit de Lailatoul Qadr (Nuit du Destin) annual public holiday of Niger.
The aforementioned announcement ("la journée du jeudi 22 juin 2017, correspondant au lendemain de la nuit de Lailatoul Qadr (Nuit du Destin), est déclarée chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national"), as do previous ones (2017-04-14, 2016-09-08, 2015-09-23 and 2015-07-16), refers specifically to the "Loi n° 97-20 du 20 juin 1997 instituant les fêtes légales" (1997-06-23) is also in line with the subsequent "Loi n°98-05 du 29 avril 1998 instituant les fêtes légales" (1998-04-29), as amended by the "Loi n°2006-08 du 02 mai 2006" (2006-05-09), and with last winter's announcement by the Government of Niger (2017-02-06) specifying the non-working public holidays in Niger for the calendar year 2017, and applies to both the private and public sectors.
