The government of Palau has announced that Palau's President, Tommy E. Remengesau Jr., had signed into law a new non-working public holiday in Palau, called Family Day to be observed "every fourth Friday of November".
As per the aforementioned announcement, the declaration of the new Family Day non-working public holiday in Palau "will automatically allow for a 4-day weekend as it will be followed by Thanksgiving Day, which is on the fourth Thursday of November. This will be the only week in the year that every citizen may find the opportunity for a full 4 days weekend”.
The aforementioned announcement that Family Day would be a new annual non-working public holiday in Palau, to be observed "every fourth Friday of November", is in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Palau for the calendar year 2017 that was released by the government of Palau, late last year (2016-12-03).
