Peruvian July 27 Public Holiday Clarified

The Peruvian government has issued guidelines for the private sector concerning the upcoming voluntary public holiday of Thursday, July 27, 2017.

The upcoming public holiday of Thursday, July 27, 2017, was declared by the Peruvian government of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski in the Decreto Supremo 001-2017-PCM, at the beginning of this year (2017-01-07) in the context of its release of an amended and expanded version of its previously-released (2016-12-22) list of the official non-working public holidays in Peru for the upcoming calendar year 2017 ("feriados para sector público y privado"), as had been done regularly in the past (2013-01-01, 2011-12-29, 2011-03-06, 2010-02-17, 2008-12-15, 2008-02-08 and 2006-09-15), except the 3 preceding years (2015-12-31, 2014-12-09 and 2014-03-31) to stimulate internal tourism (con el fin de fomentar el desarrollo del turismo interno y dinamizar las economías locales).
