The recently released annual list of regional public holidays in Spain's autonomous region of La Rioja for the upcoming calendar year 2018 ("días inhábiles a efectos laborales, de carácter retribuido y no recuperable, del calendario del próximo año") has been gazetted.

Today's gazette notification ("Resolución 566/2017 de 5 de junio de la Comunidad Autónoma de la Rioja, por la que se dispone la publicación del Acuerdo de Gobierno por el que se aprueda el calendario de festivos laborables para el año 2018 en la Comunidad Autonóma de La Rioja - BOR de 12 de junio de 2017") confirms last month's announcement by the Consejería de Industria, Innovación y Empleo of Spain's Autonomous Region of La Rioja (2017-06-03), through its spokesperson, Begoña Martínez Arregui, of the annual list of regional public holidays in La Rioja for the upcoming calendar year 2018 ("días inhábiles a efectos laborales, de carácter retribuido y no recuperable, del calendario del próximo año").

For 2018, and for the 6th year (2017-06-03, 2016-07-30, 2015-08-30, 2014-08-01, 2013-09-08 and 2012-08-03), the Autonomous Region of La Rioja has decided to switch the regional public holiday of March 19 (San José), which it observed 4 years in a row (2011-06-11, 2010-08-28, 2009-08-13 and 2008-08-02), for the June 9 (Día de La Rioja), which falls 2 days away from San Bernabé, a date which is often declared as municipal non-working public holiday in the capital of Spain's Autonomous Region of La Rioja.
