The Governor-General of St. Kitts and Nevis, Tapley Seaton, after consultations with the St Kitts and Nevis cabinet, has declared a public holiday in St. Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

The aforementioned declaration of a public holiday in St. Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, "was made to was made to mark the last lap of Carnival".
