The government of Albania has announced its annual list of the official Albanian bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Albania for the calendar year 2019.

When the list of the official non-working public holidays in Albania for the calendar year 2015 was announced (2014-11-16), it stipulated that the former rule (2008-12-14) that mandated a day in lieu public holiday in Albania whenever a public holiday fell on a weekend, was no longer be applicable to official non-working public holidays in Albania (2009-12-01).

This decision was soon reversed (2015-04-07 and 2015-04-01), and the aforementioned list of the official Albanian bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Albania for the calendar year 2019, as was the case for the past 3 years (2017-12-18, 2017-01-07 and 2016-01-09), does contain the mention that "In cases when official holidays fall on weekdays (Saturday or Sunday), Monday is a day of rest" ("Në rastet kur festat zyrtare bie në ditët e pushimit javor (e shtunë ose e diel), dita e hënë është ditë pushimi."), as was the case for the 5 years before (2013-10-04, 2012-11-05, 2011-10-20 and 2010-11-01).

The list of the official Albanian bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Albania for the calendar year 2019, also mentions that "The holiday dates of Kurban Bajram and Eid al-Fitr may change according to the lunar calendar. If there are any changes, you will be notified of a second notification.", but the Muslim dates in Albania are usually based on the Turkish DIB Islamic calendar and rarely change.
