The Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic has issued a communiqué confirming that, as per the current public holidays legislation, Thursday, May 31, 2018, would be an official non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic on account of the upcoming Día Corpus Christi annual immovable non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic.
The aforementioned announcement ("El Ministerio de Trabajo reiteró hoy a toda la colectividad empresarial y trabajadora de la República Dominicana que la festividad religiosa Corpus Christi, que se celebra este jueves 31 de mayo, no se cambia.") that Thursday, May 31, 2018, would be an official non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic is in line with last fall's official listing of public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the year 2018 (2017-11-14), and the current public holidays legislation (1997-06-19), namely law 139-97.
