The Office of the President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has announced that Friday, May 25, 2018, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia "in observance of the Africa Day, formerly known as African Liberation Day".

The aforementioned announcement that Friday, May 25, 2018, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia is in line with past years' announcements (2018-04-27, 2017-02-16, 2016-03-23, 2016-02-17, 2015-09-17, 2014-01-11, 2013-08-07, 2012-11-07, 2012-07-20, 2011-12-27, 2011-04-29, 2011-04-21 and 2011-02-17).
