Following sightings of the Shawwal Moon in 3 localities of the Ivory Coast, the government of the Ivory Coast has has declared Thursday, June 14, 2018, as a non-working public holiday in Niger on account of the upcoming Aïd El-Fitr (End of Ramadan) annual public holiday in the Ivory Coast.

Earlier this week (12-Jun-2018), the government of the Ivory Coast had announced that it would declare Friday, June 15, 2018, as the date of the annual national non-working public holiday in the Ivory Coast ("jour férié, chômé et payé sur toute l'étendue du territoire national") on account of the upcoming Aïd el Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday of the Ivory Coast, seemingly based on the Umm al-Qora Islamic calendar as used in Saudi Arabia, as in past years (24-Jun-2017, 05-Jul-2016, 16-Jul-2015 and 27-Jul-2014).
