The Government of India's state of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a Government Order which amends its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Jammu and Kashmir for the calendar year 2018 by declaring Wednesday, January 31, 2018, as a one-off non-working public holiday in India's state of Jammu and Kashmir as a mark of respect to Sonam Dawa Lonpo.

Today's announcement thus amends last autumn's "List of holidays for the calendar year-2018 under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881", contained in the Jammu and Kashmir Government Order 1585 Dt 14/12/2017, with, as per custom (2016-12-11), the "List of holidays for the calendar year-2018", contained in the Jammu and Kashmir Government Order 1584 Dt 14/12/2017, includes a list of Provincial Holidays for Jammu, a list of Provincial Holidays for Kashmir, as well as a list of local district holidays.

The above "List of holidays for the calendar year-2018 under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881" and "List of holidays for the calendar year-2018" can be expected to be amended during the year, as was the case in past years (2017-06-21, 2017-05-31, 2017-04-22, 2017-06-21, 2017-05-31 and 2017-04-22).
