The Association of Banks in Lebanon in conjunction with the Banque du Liban (Lebanon's Central Bank), has issued yet an amended version of the annual list of Lebanese non-working bank holidays in Lebanon for the calendar year 2018, by moving the non-working bank holiday in Lebanon in 2018 for the Annunciation, to Saturday, March 24.

The Feast of the Annunciation was added to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Lebanon six years ago (2010-02-19), as announced by Lebanon's then Information Minister, Tarek Mitri, who announced that the Lebanese cabinet had agreed to make the Feast of the Annunciation a new annual national public holiday (la fête sera chômée). That declaration had been expected ever since the year before, following the first, working day, observance of the "Islamic-Christian Day" or as it was officially named, "Together around Mary, Our Lady" (2009-03-24).

The date of the Feast of the Annunciation public holiday in Lebanon has, on occasion (2016-03-21), diverged from liturgical rules.
