The Malaysian state government of Perak has declared Monday, October 29, 2018, as a one-off non-working public holiday, as it had promised to do, should the Perak football team wins the Malaysia Cup on October 27.

A couple of days ago (18-Aug-2017), with the consent of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the state government of Perak had decided to declare Monday, October 29, 2018, as a one-off non-working public holiday if the Perak football team wins the Malaysia Cup on October 27.

Perak was playing against Terengganu whose Chief Minister, Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, had skipped straight to dessert and announced that Sunday, October 28, 2018, would be a one-off non-working public holiday throughout Terengganu State, regardless if Terengganu wins or loses the Malaysia Cup final, on October 27, against Perak (24-Oct-2018).
