Melilla 2019 Public Holidays Announced

The Consejo de Gobierno de la Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla, in an emergency session (Sesión ejecutiva extraordinaria y urgente), has released its calendario laboral, the annual official list of 2019 non-working public holidays in Spain's autonomous region of Melilla, in the Boletín Oficial de Melilla (BOME).

As per the aforementioned "Acuerdo de 27 de septiembre de 2018 de la Ciudad Autonoma de Melilla, del Consejo de Gobierno, relativo a la aprobacion del Calendario Laboral para el año 2019", the March 19 annual public holiday will be compensated, once again (2016-10-04, 2015-09-17, 2014-09-27, 2013-10-05 and 2012-10-10) by the inclusion of a public holiday for the Feast of Sacrifice (Pascua del Sacrificio) Muslim public holiday, its date in Melilla having been set to August 12, 2019, as was done in neighboring Ceuta last month (2018-08-28).

In addition, there will be one-off public holidays on January 7 and December 9, 2019.
