Philippines Special Assistant to the President, Christopher Go , has announced that Philippines President, Rodrigo Duterte, had signed Proclamation No.556, declaring Friday, September 1, 2017, as the date of the upcoming Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday of the Philippines, in accordance with Republic Act 9177.
Last summer (19-Jul-2017), then Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 269, s. 2017 which listed the special and regular public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2018, and included a slot to be filled-in for the Eid'l Fitr (End of Ramadan) and Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) non-working public holidays added to the list of Philippines public holidays over the past decade (23-Jan-2002).
