The Minister of the Interior of Suriname, Mike Noersalim, has issued a communiqué declaring Wednesday, November 7,2018, as the date of the upcoming Divali public holiday in Suriname for the calendar year 2018.

The aforementioned announcement declaring Wednesday, November 7,2018, as the date of the upcoming Divali public holiday in Suriname for the calendar year 2018, is in line with the annual list of expected bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Suriname dates for the calendar year 2018, released earlier this year (23-Jan-2018).

Divali has been one of the Suriname annual non-working public holidays, ever since Suriname's then President, Desi Bouterse, announced that the Diwali, on Friday, November 5, 2010, would be an official public holiday in Suriname (30-Oct-2010).
