Tonga's Prime Minister's Office has issued a communiqué announcing that Monday, September 17, 2018, would be marked as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga "for the 33rd birthday of Crown Prince Tupoutoʻa ʻUlukalala".

The declaration of Monday, September 17, 2018, as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga is in line with Tonga's Ministry of Information and Communications communiqué announcing the official list of non-working public holidays in Tonga for the calendar year 2018, announced early this year (2018-01-05), and with the terms of the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) which amended the public holidays legislation of Tonga (2010-05-19 and 2010-04-08).
