The Zambian Government Secretary to the Cabinet, Roland Msiska, has announced that the Government of Zambia had declared Friday, March 9, 2018, as one-off non-working public holidays in Zambia on account of the upcoming "commemoration of the International Women’s Day on Thursday".
A decade ago (2007-03-07), the Zambian cabinet added International Women's Day to the list of Zambian official public holidays, based on the recommendation from the Minister of Gender and Women Development, Sara Sayifwanda, but it was effective as of calendar year 2008 only.
