The government of Afghanistan has declared Saturday, September 28, 2019, as a non-working public holiday in Afghanistan to coincide with the upcoming Afghan presidential election.

The aforementioned announcement that Saturday, September 28, 2019, as a non-working public holiday in Afghanistan to coincide with the upcoming Afghan presidential election, is in addition to the announcement, earlier this year (2019-01-14), by the government of Afghanistan, of the list of official public holidays in Afghanistan for the calendar year 2019, but in line with what was done on the occasion of past Afghan elections (2009-03-05, 2009-01-29 and 2004-12-06).
