The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan has released the list of non-working 2020 public holidays in Azerbaijan, including Muslim Azeri public holidays, and day in lieu public holidays due to some of Azerbaijan's 2020 annual non-working public holidays falling on a weekend.
Today's announcement of the 2020 public holidays in Azerbaijan, based on the current labour law of Azerbaijan as it relates to the list of official non-working public holidays (2005-12-30), as opposed to some past years (2017-12-21 and 2017-12-08), but as was the case last year (2018-12-27), was preceded by a first partial list was declared which did not yet cover the full calendar year 2020 (2019-12-02) and does specify day in lieu public holidays, as was the case for the past few years (2016-12-01, 2015-12-25 and 2014-11-25).
Note that, in 2020, there will be an additional public holiday in Azerbaijan, on account of the upcoming early legislative elections in the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, as announced earlier this month by the Presidential Decree "On the dissolution of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan of the fifth convocation and the calling of early elections in the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan" (О роспуске Милли Меджлиса Азербайджана пятого созыва и назначении внеочередных выборов в Милли Меджлис Азербайджана).
