The Director of the Banking Services Directorate of the Central Bank of Bahrain has announced that the Central Bank of Bahrain had declared bank holidays in Bahrain on Monday and Tuesday, September 9 and 10, 2019, to mark the upcoming Ashoora 1441 bank holidays.
Contrary to what often happens (2019-08-29, 2019-06-02, 2018-06-13, 2016-07-04, 2015-07-15, 2013-08-06 and 2012-08-15), though not systematically (2017-06-21, 2014-07-25), the aforementioned announcement that Monday and Tuesday, September 9 and 10, 2019, would be bank holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming Ashoora 1441 did not make reference to the declaration of any day in lieu to compensate a public holiday, or bank holiday, falling on the weekend of Bahrain, but it is in line with the recent announcement by Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, that "ministries, directorates and public institutions will be closed on Monday September 9 and Tuesday September 10" (2019-09-04).
