Bangladesh's State Minister for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, has announced that the date of the upcoming 2019 Eid-ul-Azha (Feast of Sacrifice), would be Monday, August 12, 2019.
The aforementioned announcement of the date of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha (Feast of Sacrifice), and annual non-working public holidays in Bangladesh, on Monday, August 12, 2019, is in line with the official list of 2019 non-working public holidays in Bangladesh, as contained in the DFIM Circular Letter of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (2018-10-30).
The Government of Bangladesh is still considering the option of declaring Wednesday, August 14, 2019, as a non-working public holidays in Bangladesh to link the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha (Feast of Sacrifice), with the annual August 15 public holiday, as was done in 2016, when Friday, September 15, 2016, was declared a non-working public holiday in Bangladesh, to be compensated by having public servants working on Saturday, September 17, 2016 (2016-09-05).
