The Government of Cameroon has ruled-out the declaration of Thursday, December 26, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday (feriée chômée sur toute l'étendue du territoire de la république du Cameroun).
The aforementioned announcement by the government of Cameroon is in line with the list of 2019 public holidays in the Cameroon, as announced earlier this year (2019-01-11).
However, there had been rumours that additional public holidays would be declared around Christmas 2019 and the New Year 2020, as last year, President Paul Biya had declared December 24, and December 31, 2018, as a one-off public holiday via decree 780 (2018-12-28), thus amending the list of 2018 public holidays in the Cameroon as announced at the beginning of that year (2018-01-08).
