The government of Chile has confirmed that, once again, the upcoming celebración de las Fiestas Patrias 2019 will encompass 5 consecutive days of non-working public holidays in Chile, this year, from September 18 to September 22, 2018, inclusively.

The aforementioned 5 consecutive days of non-working public holidays in Chile for the upcoming celebración de las Fiestas Patrias 2019, as was the case last year (2018-07-21), is based on an amendment to Article 35 of the Labor Code of Chile, passed over a decade ago (2007-09-12, 2007-08-28, 2007-08-15, 2007-08-08, 2007-08-03, 2007-07-11), which automatically makes September 20 a public holiday when it falls on a Friday (“cada año calendario que los días 18 y 19 de septiembre sean días martes y miércoles, respectivamente, o miércoles o jueves, respectivamente, es feriado el día lunes 17 o el día viernes 20 de dicho mes, según el caso").
