A group of Chilean parliamentarians is pushing for July 2, 2019, to be declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Chile, on the day when a good part of the country will experience a total solar eclipse.
This bill, as many other similar ones in the recent past (2018-09-07, 2017-06-27, 2016-09-04, 2013-09-17, 2013-04-09, 2012-09-12 and 2012-03-26), has little chance of passing into law as a non-working public holiday in Chile.
