Jordan's Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, has issued a circular decreeing non-working public holidays in Jordan on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, Thursday, December 26, 2019, and Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
The aforementioned announcement of non-working public holidays in Jordan on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, Thursday, December 26, 2019, and Wednesday, January 1, 2020, on account of the upcoming Christmas and Western New Year non-working bank holidays and public holidays of Jordan, does specify that the December 26 public holiday is for Christians only, and otherwise is in line with the list of official non-working 2019 public holidays in Jordan, as released last year (2018-10-18) and the list of official non-working 2020 public holidays in Jordan, as released a couple of month ago (2019-09-17).
Note that, despite the fact that the aforementioned announcement refers to "official holiday for all ministries and governmental institutions", the December 25 and January 1st public holidays also apply to the private sector, as clarified, earlier this year, by the Jordanian Ministry of Labour, through its inspector, Nizar Al Yousef, when he issued a statement to the effect that any announcement related to public holidays, made by the Prime Minister, applies to the private sector, as well as the public sector, of Jordan, under the law (2019-06-29).
