The State Secretary of the government of Malaysia's State of Pahang, Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak, has announced that the Pahang executive council had declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Malaysia's State of Pahang on Thursday, May 23, 2019, "to allow the people to pay their last respects to the late Sultan, Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah ibni Al Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mu'adzam Shah".
Recall that, in somewhat related news, earlier this year (2019-01-30), the Chief Minister of the government of Malaysia's State of Pahang, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, had announced that the Pahang state executive council had declared a one-off occasional non-working public holiday in Malaysia's State of Pahang on Thursday, January 31, 2019, in conjunction with the swearing-in of the Sultan of Pahang, as King of Malaysia.
