Earlier this morning, Mauritius' government announced that it had declared the afternoon of today, Friday, July 19, 2019, as a one-off non-working half-day public holiday in Mauritius, on account of the opening ceremony of the JIOI (Indian Ocean Island Games).

As per the aforementioned announcement the public sector of Mauritius will benefit from a public holiday beginning at 14:00 (2pm), this afternoon, thus amending the 2019 list of official non-working public holidays in Mauritius, as announced, last year (2018-05-26), and already once amended for the visit of Pope Francis (2019-06-11).
