Mexico's Asociación de Bancos de México (ABM) and Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNVB) have jointly issued a communiqué announcing that Monday, September 16, 2019, would be a bank holiday throughout Mexico, on account of the upcoming Independence Day annual non-working public holiday in Mexico.
The aforementioned announcement that Monday, September 16, 2019, would be a bank holiday throughout Mexico, on account of the upcoming Independence Day annual non-working public holiday in Mexico ("las instituciones bancarias suspenderán sus operaciones al público en general, con motivo del 209 aniversario del inicio de la Independencia de México") is in line with the official list of Mexican 2019 bank holidays ("los días en que las instituciones de crédito deberán cerrar sus puertas y suspender operaciones") which were gazetted in the Diario Oficial de la Federación at the beginning of this year (2019-01-18) and the 2006 changes to Mexico's public holidays legislation (2006-01-17).
