The Peruvian government has gazetted the Decreto Supremo Nº 002-2019-PCM which amends and expands the list of the official non-working public holidays in Peru for the upcoming calendar year 2019 ("Declárese días no laborables, para los trabajadores del sector público, a nivel nacional, los siguientes").
As was done regularly in the past (2017-12-26, 2017-01-07, 2016-12-22, 2013-01-01, 2011-12-29, 2011-03-06, 2010-02-17, 2008-12-15, 2008-02-08 and 2006-09-15), after a 3 years hiatus (2015-12-31, 2014-12-09 and 2014-03-31), the Government of Peru has again issued a Decreto Supremo which declares 3 additional non-working public holidays in Peru for 2019 to stimulate internal tourism (con el fin de fomentar el desarrollo del turismo interno y dinamizar las economías locales).
Even during the years when the declarations of one-off non-working public holidays in Peru, to stimulate internal tourism, was abandoned, some isolated one-off public holidays in Peru did get declared (2016-08-13, 2015-09-12, 2015-07-23 and 2014-12-14).
