The Permanent Secretary in Uganda's Ministry of Public Service, Catherine Bitarakwate Musingwiire, has announced that the Government of Uganda had declared Wednesday, June 5, 2019, as the date of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr (End of Ramadan) annual non-working public holiday in Uganda.

The aforementioned announcement ("The Honorable Minister of Public Service informs the general public that Wednesday 5th June is Eid Al Fitr") does not follows the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar, which Ugandan public holidays have sometimes followed in past years (2018-08-17, 2017-08-28, 2016-09-06, 2015-07-16, 2014-10-02, 2013-10-04, 2012-10-18 and 2009-11-24), but not systematically (2008-12-06).
