Australian 2020 Queensland Public Holidays Amended

Source: Department of Justice and Attorney-General (State of Queensland)
Posted: Thursday, May 21, 2020

Speaking in the State Parliament, earlier today, Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, announced that the 2020 Ekka People's Day public holiday would be moved from Wednesday, August 12, 2020, to Friday, August 14, 2020, to help the tourism industry ("People's Day will become People's Long Weekend and we do this with the support of the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland").

The aforementioned move of the upcoming Ekka People's Day public holiday (aka. Royal Queensland Show public holiday), from Wednesday, August 12, 2020, to Friday, August 14, 2020, to help the tourism industry, thus amends the list of 2020 public holidays in the state of Queensland, as announced a year and a half ago (2018-12-06).
