The organizers of Bermuda's Cup Match have announced that the 2020 Cup Match, scheduled for July 30 and 31, 2020, would be canceled for the first time in 118 years ("After much deliberation, it has been concluded that the health and safety of spectators, club officials and players is of greatest significance during these uncertain and unprecedented times").

However, Bermuda's Premier, David Burt, added that "Emancipation and all that the holiday represents to Bermuda will still be observed", meaning that the aforementioned announcement of the cancellation of the 2020 Cup Match in Bermuda, will not amend the revised list of public holidays in Bermuda for the years 2018-2019-2020-2021, as initially announced 2 years ago (2016-10-31) and later amended (2018-06-01 and 2017-12-24).

Recall that (2020-02-03), beginning in 2021, the Friday before the first Monday in August, will be observed in Bermuda as the Mary Prince Day public holiday, rather than Somers Day, after Admiral Sir George Somers who founded of the English colony of Bermuda (2020-01-05, 2016-10-31, 2016-01-17, 2014-03-24, 2013-09-25, 2013-02-26, 2011-04-27, 2011-01-22, 2010-08-02, 2009-08-02).
