Bolivia's Ministry of Labour has issued a communiqué announcing that only Thursday, August 6, 2020, would be observed as an official non-working public holiday to commemorate the 195th National Day of Bolivia ("Estamos emitiendo un comunicado desde el Ministerio de Trabajo para convalidar el feriado nacional del 6 de agosto en conmemoración al Día de la Independencia. Y será con suspensión de actividades públicas y privadas en todo el territorio nacional").

The aforementioned announcement that only Thursday, August 6, 2020, would be observed as an official non-working public holiday follows the announcement by the mayor of La Paz, Luis Revilla, that both public and private work activities would be suspended, creating an extended period of public holidays, as was the case last year (2019-08-01).
