The Consejo de Gobierno of the regional government of Spain's autonomous region of las Islas Canarias, has announced its official annual list of 2021 Spanish regional non-working public holidays in the Canaries Islands ("calendario laboral al que a las cuatro fiestas de ámbito nacional se suman siete elegidas por la Comunidad Autónoma").

The "Decreto 110/2020 de 1 de octubre de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias, por el que se determina el calendario de fiestas laborales de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias para el año 2021", published in the BOCA de 13 de octubre de 2020, had been announced earlier this year (2020-10-01), contains all the nationwide Spanish public holidays and, to these, adds regional and municipal public holidays specific to each of the individual islands that make up the Canaries (El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Lanzarote, La Palma, and Tenerife).

Contrary to what was done in past years (2019-06-06, 2018-07-03, 2017-09-08, 2016-05-20, 2016-05-11, 2015-08-06, 2014-05-16, 2013-07-19, 2012-09-07 and 2011-07-29), the aforementioned announcement does not contain the May 30 "Día de Canarias", which falls on a Sunday in 2021. And, contrary to what happened in 2010, no public holiday was declared on Monday, May 31, 2021, in compensation.
