The government of Chile has confirmed that October 25, 2020, would be a public holiday and that, in addition, those who work on that day are entitled to 2 hours to go vote in the Constitutional Referendum ("Los empleadores deberán conceder los permisos necesarios, sin descuento de remuneraciones, a los trabajadores que voten y también").
The list of 2020 public holidays in Chile had been announced, 2 years ago (2018-08-05), by Chile's Ministro Secretario General de Gobierno, jointly with Chile's Ministerio del Trabajo y Previsión Social.
The list of 2020 public holidays in Chile was then amended, last year (2019-09-22), when Chile's Ministro Secretario General de Gobierno announced a revised version of the annual list of bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Chile, due to the inclusion of the date of the regional and municipal elections in 2020, as was the case in preceding years (2016-10-16 and 2016-04-24).
